About
CASSANDRA SKY WEST
Cassandra is an award-winning journalist, veteran of the armed forces, and Jane-of-all-trades. She lives in Idaho with the love of her life and their three kids. After writing day in and day out for ten years, her spouse strongly encouraged her to try to make a living out of it. Since then, she’s written under various pen-names and sold several stories of werewolves, witches, and the arcane. She plans on writing until the day she dies. Possibly after, if that’s allowed.
What books have influenced your life the most?
That’s a hard one! I love reading. As a small child I would read anything and everything. The pulp novels of Isaac Asimov’s Lucky Star series profoundly impacted my ideas of heroism. As did Robert Heinlein’s Starship Troopers, and Orson Scott Cards Ender’s Game.
Which writers inspire you?
Anyone who gets to the finish line, and then starts another race.
What draws you to this genre?
The sheer wonder of what could happen next. There are no rules, and anything can happen.
When did you decide to become a writer?
The moment I realized I would never be happy doing anything else.
